Definitions + Other Info.

  • A trauma-informed practice is meant to create a safer and more healing environment for guests. It encourages reconnection to movement and the body which if fundamental to healing.

Students will be given options in a choice based way. No movement, exercise or pose is ever required.

  • Body Neutrality is the movement that came from Body Positivity. While at it’s roots, Body Positivity was good, it changed into something that can be just as oppressive or frustrating.

We can think of Body Neutrality as the notion that it doesn’t mater what your body looks like. That the less time we free up the notion that only looks matter we can become more present and mindful. We can meet ourselves more wholly. We can focus on acceptance and respecting for oneself and body rather than just loving.

Less of “you have to love your body”
More of “you can just be with your body”

  • Social wellness is about community care and growth; it is cultivating genuine relationships and connections. It is forming healthy bonds with not only the humans around us, but our communities and the environment we thrive in.

Social wellness is a balance of the physical, emotional and mental health we nourish in our selves, while acknowledging the intrinsic role we have in nourishing that in each other.

  • In order to help normalize self-identification, our teachers introduce themselves with their own pronouns at the beginning of class so you can get to know them better.

We want folks to feel seen and accepted for who they are in our space. Making pronouns a regular part of the conversation adds to a genuine acceptance and understanding of the individual.
